The U16 Boys badminton team, consisting of Oli Hoult, Sam Koelling, James Herbert, Mark Sutsakhon and Adam Langeveld have made an excellent start to the 2009/10 league campaign. They are undefeated so far this year with convincing victories over Moat and Soar Valley. Oli, James and Sam have put in outstanding singles performances winning all of their respective matches. All players are making good progress under the leadership and management of head coach Mr Bateman.
The lads took part in a tournament held at Beauchamp College but unfortunately came unstuck against a very strong Beauchamp side which included four strong County players.
The U18 Boys badminton team have come up against some very strong opposition so far this year. There have been good performances from Ryan Mills and Ash Mason who have been well backed up by some of the U16 lads.
Any new players wishing to come along to Badminton are more than welcome; every Monday after school in the sports hall until 4:45pm.
The two schools had been rivals for some time now, so unsurprisingly the atmosphere in the oppositions sports hall was tense as the 4 confident Guthlaxton female representatives entered the room.
