Guthlaxton College have booked their place into the last 4 of the county plate with an emphatic win over a good Bosworth college team. During cold conditions Guthlaxton College set out their stall early on, when after 5 minutes Jacob Clemence was already looking for a hat-trick having scored two well worked tries in the left corner to put the hosts 14 – 0 up. Despite their dominance, Guthlaxton could not turn any more pressure into points which opened the door for Bosworth college who scored two tries before half time to make the score 14 – 12 at the break.
Guthlaxton’s luck got even worse after the break, when from the restart, a Bosworth player managed to break a tackle and cross the whitewash for another unconverted try to put the visitors ahead 14 – 17. this appeared to ignite the spark for the Guthlaxton boy’s, who, with some great tackles from many key players including Matthew Western-Smith and captain Tom Roe forced the visitors back which resulted in a try for Joe Nickleson. The pressure continued from the jinxing runs of fly half Lewis Hill resulting in unanswered try’s for Matt Salmon, Tom Roe and Later on Jacob Clemence completed the scoring to finish off his hat-trick and put the Guthlaxton team through to the semi-finals. All conversions were scored by Lewis Hill.
