Our last newsletter told you a lot about how we were trying to smash barriers against achievement through an intense programme of support for our students to achieve their very best. At Guthlaxton, we believe that there should be no limits against what each and every student can achieve.
As part of our Assertive Mentoring we have joined forces with the National Breakthrough Programme which is recognised countrywide for the work it has done to raise the aspirations, goals and achievements of boys particularly. We have also forged further links with home grown talent in the form of the Citizen 598.
Citizen 598 are a renowned theatre company run by Nathan Human (one of our Drama teachers) and Dan Edwards. Dan has put together an inspirational programme for 15 boys in Year 10 focusing on how to reach high levels of achievement during their time at Guthlaxton.
Over the next three months Dan will be working with the boys to create a multi-media presentation about achievement and success at Guthlaxton and in the local community. On Tuesday May 13th the Breakthrough Boys will premier their work to an audience of their parents, carers, friend and relatives.
