Christmas Hampers for the Elderly

There were 64 Christmas hampers distributed across Wigston and South Wigston during the last week of the autumn term. It was a magnificent effort by all involved and our thanks to you as parents and the staff and students of Guthlaxton College and Abington High School who donated items of food so generously.

Many thanks also to the Year 12 BTEC students who launched the appeal at the beginning of December.

The winning tutor groups were:

De Montfort Glenne Herrick Wistan
DSE GCH HGN WKP
DTM GRH HCV WJH

Overall winner: HBK

Well done to all tutor groups. We have received some wonderful thank you letters and cards acknowledging the contribution.

The Curve Partnership

We are delighted to announce the partnership which is being developed with the Curve Theatre in Leicester and the College. There are strong links developing with this state of the art theatre venue which includes student and staff visits, a residency in April and the development of six installations for the College which develops our vision to nurture the independent learner.

Please watch this space as we explore the partnership and offer opportunities for students, staff, parents and friends of Guthlaxton College.

The Wigston Federation of Schools Arts Festival
