New exciting catering facilities at the college

Refurbished dining halls and a cashless catering system provide the college with a new approach to the problem of people forgetting their dinner money.

3rd October 2007

We are very pleased to announce the opening of a new Dining Room and the refurbishment of the existing Dining Room. These facilities are now 'State of the Art' offering students the opportunity to dine in comfort. Each of the areas now has a Plasma Screen which gives the students the opportunity to listen to music or watch sport. We have also introduced our 'Cashless Catering' system. Students and staff alike are enjoying using this facility. However, some students are still bringing in cash which is causing large queues at the paying machine. To make the system more efficient, we would ask parents/carers to either send in cheques that will cover a minimum of two weeks’ worth of purchases for your child. If your child spends £2.50 per day, then you will need to send a cheque for £25.00. Cheques must have the name of the child and tutor group clearly written on the reverse side. Further cheques should then be sent, at least weekly, in advance. An alternative way of paying could be by Direct Debit or Standing Order. Please contact the College Office if this is of interest to you.

Students can use the wall mounted coin and note loaders. These units are programmed to accept 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins as well as £5, £10 and £20 notes. We are pleased that Free School Meal students have the autonomy they deserve and should your son/daughter be eligible for Free School Meals, we would encourage you to ensure you register for this facility.
