Re: Information for the start of term, Thursday 1st September 2011

I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for the beginning of the new academic year in September. This follows the success of our induction programme in July.

New Year 10:
All new year 10 students will be expected to be in their Tutor rooms by 8:50 am on Thursday 1st  September 2011. During the first hour of the day Group Tutors have the opportunity to get to know the new year 10 students joining the Vertical Tutor Group and help familiarise the students with the College organisation and timetable arrangements.

New Year 11 & New Year 13:
It has been decided that the start of the academic year for all new year 11 and new year 13 students will begin on Thursday 1st September 2011 at 10.00 am.
New year 11 and year 13 students will be expected to report directly to their Group Tutor at 10.00 am, in their tutor room in full College uniform (Year 11) or according to the College dress code (Year 13). During the second hour of the day, year 11 and 13 students can establish positive relationships within their group building upon the foundations set during the induction period.

All students:
Lessons for all students will begin at 10.30 am after the essential start of term preparation has been completed within their Tutor Group. These arrangements will ensure the first day has a productive and focused start for all students.

New Year 12:
Year 12 teaching starts Tuesday 6th September. Students are expected in their Tutor base at 8:50 am.
