One of this years Young Enterprise companies has successfully made it through the first round of the national competition for business of the year 2011.

On Wednesday 30th March ovation led by a group of year 12 students from Guthlaxton College won 4 out of 8 awards on offer at the East Leicestershire Final, held at the Police Headquarters in Enderby. Against tough opposition from local rivals such as Oadby Beauchamp, Saint Pauls and Leicester Grammar School, ovation stood out with a superb presentation led by Managing Director, Karan Mangal.

The team’s prizes included Best Community Engagement, Best Marketing Strategy, Best Presentation and Best Company Report. The pool of young business talent in the company produced a stunning account of their journey so far this year and their presentation won high praise from Lian Britchford, East Midlands Business Woman of the Year.

The students were elated at the end of the evening as their hard work had been recognised by the team of judges. Anne Coulstock and Sade Singh the Link Teachers and Kevin Skipworth their Business Advisor have their fingers crossed for the Leicestershire Final on 12th May 2011 at the Walkers Stadium.
