Since we came back in September, the Sixth Form has been transformed dramatically. The new sixth form management structure has enabled us, as a student body, to achieve more than ever before. We now have four sub-groups that specialise in the main areas of student involvement: charity, premises, volunteering and social.

In the past five months alone, the Sixth Form has collected over £1000 for various charities including Cancer Research and Lymphoma Awareness through a range of activities such as ‘I’m a Sixth Former Get Me Out Of Here!’ a drag show and charity auctions.

The Premises Committee have been working tirelessly on improving the Tiger Garden and the common room, in addition to organising a new menu system for the Sixth Form.

The improvements to the Sixth Form Management have, in turn, resulted to an all-round greater improvement in the level of involvement and subsequent atmosphere throughout the Sixth Form.

We now have over 40% of our students signed up to a recognised volunteering award scheme to acknowledge their commitment to the College and community at large.

In addition to our studies and school-based activities, we recognise the importance of celebrating success in a way that strengthens the bonds between the two years: our social events. We have already had several parties as well as the Christmas dinner and the social committee are already working on the planning and preparation of our Last Fling.

To summarise, the high levels of commitment and dedication that all the sixth form students demonstrate is shown through the buzzing atmosphere that is so apparent from the moment you walk into B-block.
