Dear Parents/Carers

It was announced on Sunday 12th December that some pupils will get an extra £430 spent on them next year under the government’s pupil premium scheme.

Guthlaxton College, and other schools nationally, will receive the money for every pupil whose parents qualify according to the same criteria as for claiming free school meals:

You qualify for free school meals if:

£ You claim Income Support
£ You are a child who receives Income Support or income based jobseekers allowance
£ You get income based job seekers allowance or employment and support allowance
£ You get Child tax credit (not working tax credit)
£ You get a guaranteed element of State pension credit
£ You get support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

To find out if you qualify, all it takes is one phone call or an e-mail!

Please telephone the Leicestershire County Council School Food Support on:

For an application form or to apply via telephone – 0116 3056588 or 0116 305 7093
Fax 0116 3055785 or e-mail freeschoolmeals@leics.gov.uk

If you are eligible, your child may get a free school meal worth £2.15 per day (we have a finger-print system to ensure that students on free school meals remain confidential) and the College could receive an extra £430.

Yours sincerely

John Keller
Principal
