Students enjoy a trip to an outdoor pursuits centre in Hinckley
On the 3rd & 4th of November the students who were awarded the highest Attitude to Learning scores for the first half term were rewarded with a free trip to an outdoor pursuits centre in Hinckley where they took part in a variety of activities.
The activities included; Learning the three rules of survival. The rule of three in terms of how long a human can survive with out oxygen, shelter/warmth, water and food. Building a shelter large enough for twelve people using some basic supplies. Building trust in one another which involved holding a circle of rope taut at waist height whilst two students walked around the rope. Paddling around the lake in a twin hulled canoe, working together to change direction and changing seats whilst in the middle of the lake.
Every one had a fantastic time and at the end of the day some of the students and Mr Ashton jumped into the lake. Very cold!
