Update from Herrick House
Herrick students have settled into this academic year nicely, and it is good to see vertical tutor groups quickly gelling.
As usual we have some very keen students wanting to become involved in College and House life; we have just had our first House Council meeting of the year, and students are busy planning charity events. Herrick will continue to support Marie Curie Cancer Care, and representatives for the organisation will be delivering a House assembly shortly.
We have also just appointed new House Captains – Louise Balkwill HST and Jamie Mullineaux HCV; Tammy Copp HDL and Karan Mangal HDL will be deputies. Congratulations to all four students – they look to be a very strong and able team and we look forward to working with them this year.
I would also like to welcome new staff to the House - new tutors Mrs Lodhi, Mr Wills and Mrs Turner, and supporting staff Mrs Woolman-Lane and Miss Raja.
Although early days, we are currently second in the House competitions so far. At this stage I am optimistic, particularly so, having seen how well Herrick students supported the House during sports day last July, consequently winning the event for us.
We have had some good entries in the recent Tutor Group Notice Board competition. Of particular note were HGL, HNC, HSS, HVT and HCV and winners will be announced by the Principal imminently.
