The counting of coins and the clattering of money being placed safely into reception marked the end of another extraordinarily successful Pink Day. A vibrant shade of pink spread across the whole of the Sixth Form. During break time the common room, resembled nothing more than a pink blur filled with optimism for the day ahead. Music blaring and the assemblance of the entire Sixth made for an excited and up-beat atmosphere.
The ever smiling Shaz and Rita and their popular Panini’s and cups of tea were aided on this occasion, by the selling of cakes, which added funds to the great cause behind Pink Day. As dinner approached the catwalk was set up, and gathered around it in anticipation for a uniquely thrilling drag show, was the blur of pink once more as people crammed into the common room. Some had to resort to peaking through windows to catch a glimpse of what was to hilariously unfold. Those who took part received a deserving round of applause. As the claps faded away… the games began!
Musical statues, bumps and apple bobbing got everyone in an unforeseen competitive mood. Even our own Mrs Wilson got in the act and didn’t hesitate to get up and dance.
The end of dinner came, marked by the customary bell which signified the end of the exhilarating feeling experienced throughout the day. At least for another year Pink Day was over, but once again next year it will be welcomed back with open arms.
