News from Glenne House

As we approach the end of a very busy half term, we have welcomed a number of new staff to Glenne House: Mr Lovell acting as Assistant House Head for Ms Marvin (we wish her well following the safe arrival of Jude during the summer holidays); Mrs Gough (GGH); Mr Hunt (GCG); Mr Smith GWS.

We had a strong field of applicants for the role of House Captains and I am pleased to announce that following interviews Andy Bond and Tayler May are the successful candidates. They introduced themselves to the House in assembly last week and put forward many ideas which the House Council (which they will chair) will hopefully put into action. Representatives to the House Council, from each Tutor Group, have already been nominated; they are in the process of deciding which charity Glenne House will support for the year.

Creativity was in abundance throughout the House last week, as we celebrated with the rest of the college. I was thrilled to see the effort that had gone into the presentations we shared in the afternoon, each group also presented their logo for the House and Tutor Group mascot. The winners of the presentation were GWS, the logo GSL and mascot GKR.

It has been an excellent start to the year, with everyone working hard towards the House Championship, at present we are in second position. Well done to everyone for all their hard work so far.
