The curtain closes for this years main production.

Well, sadly it is true that Oklahoma has completed it’s highly successful run. I know from the ticket sales that many of you were lucky enough to catch this spectacular show, which once again highlighted the strength and depth of talent our students possess. It has been commented by many audience members that this has been the strongest and slickest show that they have seen for many a year – including professional shows that they have seen at Curve or in the West End!. Obviously this is all a testimony to the hard work and commitment of all students and staff involved. All of the principals performed superbly and it would be remiss of me not to mention the beautiful lead vocals of Michael Lanni as Curly and Kathryn Oram as Laurey and accomplished performances of Rebecca Mason as Aunt Eller, Joe Dowsing as Judd Fry, Lewis Wills as Will Parker, Jessica Hopkins as Ado Annie and Amar Aggoun as Ali Hakim. This is without even beginning to mention the most important role of all – the chorus, who this year both vocally and choreographically excelled themselves with the numbers Kansas City, The Farmer and The Cowman and of course the heart warming and hair raising layered harmonies of the title song; Oklahoma.

Already some of our Year 13 Performing Arts students are beginning to receive offers from many prestigious Performing Arts Colleges. On this note I must congratulate Thomas Brown one of our principal dancers for Oklahoma! on his full scholarship award to train in Musical Theatre at the nationally and internationally acclaimed Bird College.

Many letters were received from people who enjoyed Oklahoma, you can read one of them in our corespondance section.

Once again this show has been an exhilarating and rewarding process for all involved and is true testament to the spirit inherent within the student body. Also I would like to thank all of the parents and audience members for their continuing support. Here’s looking forward to the next one...!
