Successful x-country season.
This x-country season has been a very successful one for individuals and the team. We had a inter boys team from Year 10 including Owen Williams, Lewis Crane, Shaun Last and Jake Brimley. Despite never competing in the schools x-country championship, this core group of lads worked hard to improve their positions throughout the season. Best placed out of the group overall was Owen Williams who finished a commendable 25th overall.
Our other notable success was the outstanding performance of Freya Vincent who demonstrated her place on the Elite national mile training group who are being trained by top national coaches such as Steve Cram. This season Freya came 1st twice and 2nd three times to win the Inter Girls championship and will be representing Leicestershire in the National Schools X-country championship and in the Midlands championship in the next few weeks. In the final race of the league season, at Ratcliffe college demolishing all competitors in a joint Inter and Senior girls race. Hopefully Freya will go onto great things in the world of Athletics.
Well Done to the whole team for their commitment on bleak Saturday mornings and a special thank you to the parents for their support.
