Students take part in the Young Chef of the year and the Festive Fayre competitions.
Young Chef of the year competition
December was a busy, exciting month for the Food Technology department with various activities taking place. Once again we were able to organise the Young Chef of the year competition which is sponsored by the Oadby & Wigston rotary club. Various heats took place throughout November and through these 8 students were selected to participate in the final which was held on Tuesday 9th December as follows:
| Year 13 | Samantha Lloyd |
| Year 12 | Luke Jeffrey |
| Year 11 | Nicola Simms Jade Bosworth Shaun Stokes Samantha Gaskin Danielle Wilson |
| Year 10 | Mitchell Lee |
The judges commented that it was an extremely high standard again with many budding young chefs of the future! But as always there could only be one winner!
| 3rd place | Mitchell Lee |
| 2nd place | Samantha Gaskin |
| 1st place | Samantha Lloyd |
Congratulations to all who took part but particular congratulations to Samantha Lloyd who will now go on to the next stage of the competition which will be held in February at The Samworth enterprise academy.
