Students take part in the Young Chef of the year and the Festive Fayre competitions.

Young Chef of the year competition

December was a busy, exciting month for the Food Technology department with various activities taking place. Once again we were able to organise the Young Chef of the year competition which is sponsored by the Oadby & Wigston rotary club. Various heats took place throughout November and through these 8 students were selected to participate in the final which was held on Tuesday 9th December as follows:

The judges commented that it was an extremely high standard again with many budding young chefs of the future! But as always there could only be one winner!

Congratulations to all who took part but particular congratulations to Samantha Lloyd who will now go on to the next stage of the competition which will be held in February at The Samworth enterprise academy.

Festive Fayre competition

In addition to this all our year 10 students were engaged in designing and making a festive product at the end of last term. Once again there were a wide range of interesting, attractive products and the judges; John Keller, Sally Cox & Deb Wilson had a difficult task to select winners, however after much deliberating the winners were selected as follows:
