Students volunteer to clear off graffiti in the community

In the House Activities week, about 40 students volunteered to help out in the community with support from Jacky York at Oadby & Wigston Borough Council. Students got their hands (and clothes) dirty whilst applying fence and masonary paint to the fences and walls along the alleyway between Station Road and Central Avenue on Thursday 20th November.

We were really impressed with the students’ willingness to participate and keenness to get on with the job; they were soon finished within about 1 ½ hours. The alleyway now looks much better and free from graffiti. There will be other opportunities for students to volunteer for community projects in the Spring Term.
