DMU academics visit 6th form students to share healthy living tips.
Year 12 and Year 13 were involved in a Healthier Living Workshop over the last two days with support from Guthlaxton PE Dept and DMU. Students received a lecture about healthy eating in which they learnt some interesting facts - there’s such a fruit called a dragon fruit which comes from a flowering cactus and is sweet, high in fibre and vitamin C, also avoid polar bear liver: it contains enough vitamin A to poison an adult! Many students groaned about, but really enjoyed a fitness session, modelling some key, but easy exercises to maintain good levels of fitness and tone. With DMU Student Ambassadors, they also heard more about RAG and came up with some excellent ways to raise charity funds for the College charity FARAJA. Best tutor groups in Year 12 were MNH and PAB and in Year 13 MSE and MRD.
