Extended Services has been co-ordinated by Lisa Robinson since Autumn 2008. A wide programme of provision is available for the Wigston Family of Schools which consists of Abington High School, All Saints Primary School, Birkett House Special School, Bushloe High School, Fairfield Primary School, Glenhills Primary School, Glenmere Primary School, Guthlaxton College, Little Hill Primary School, the Menphys Centre, Parklands Primary School, St John Fisher RC Primary, South Wigston High School, the Meadow Primary School, Tythorn Field Primary and Waterleys Primary School.

The programme meets the Every Child Matters Agenda and there are 4 key offers:

  • A varied menu of activities
  • Parenting support
  • Swift and easy access to services
  • Community access

Activities are varied and include Science Camp, Literacy Readers, Be Your Best, Pupil Champions and many more. These may be accessed through the website or details from individual schools.

In the tradition of the Leicestershire Community College model, Guthlaxton College continues to offer a range of daytime and evening classes. These occur throughout the College week and include U3A Watercolours, active learning, Youth Choral, Music Theory, English for Life, Maths for Life, Pilates, Active Together.

Groups include Retreads and Talkabout Group. Daytime and evening classes may be accessed by all and offer a great opportunity for life long learning and meeting new challenges.
